Biomarkers (6)

HOMA-IR (insulin resistance)

A score calculated from your fasting glucose and insulin that estimates how resistant your body has become to insulin — an early sign of metabolic trouble, often before blood sugar itself rises.

HbA1c (3-month average blood sugar)

Reflects your average blood sugar over the past two to three months, giving a fuller picture of glucose control than any single reading.

Fasting Glucose

Your blood sugar level after an overnight fast — a core screen for prediabetes and diabetes.

Fasting Insulin

The amount of insulin in your blood while fasting; raised levels can flag insulin resistance well before glucose changes.

Total Cholesterol

The overall amount of cholesterol in your blood, combining both the protective and harmful types.

HDL

‘Good’ cholesterol that helps clear excess cholesterol from your arteries; higher is generally better.

LDL

‘Bad’ cholesterol that can build up in artery walls and raise your risk of heart disease.

HDL / LDL

The ratio between your good and bad cholesterol — a quick read on your overall cholesterol balance.

Triglycerides

A type of fat carried in your blood; high levels are linked to heart disease and metabolic issues.

Apo B (harmful cholesterol particles)

Counts the number of cholesterol-carrying particles that can clog arteries — often a sharper measure of risk than LDL alone.

Apo A1

The main protein in HDL, reflecting your body's capacity to remove excess cholesterol.

Apo B / Apo A1

The balance between harmful and protective cholesterol particles, and a strong predictor of cardiovascular risk.

hs-CRP (inflammation linked to heart risk)

A sensitive marker of low-grade inflammation that is associated with heart-disease risk.

Lipoprotein(a) (inherited cholesterol risk)

A largely genetic form of cholesterol that raises heart risk independently of lifestyle — worth knowing at least once in your life.

NT-proBNP (heart strain)

A hormone released when the heart is under strain, used to assess heart function.

Homocysteine

An amino acid that, when elevated, is linked to blood-vessel damage and cardiovascular risk.

Blood Pressure

Heart Rate

Red Blood Cell & Haemoglobin Indices

ALP

GGT

A liver enzyme sensitive to bile-duct problems and alcohol intake.

Total Protein

The overall protein in your blood, reflecting nutrition and liver and kidney function.

Bilirubin

A waste product from red-blood-cell breakdown that the liver clears; high levels can signal liver or bile issues.

Albumin

A key protein made by the liver, reflecting its function and your nutrition.

Globulin

Blood proteins involved in immunity, and part of the liver-function picture.

A/G Ratio

The balance of albumin to globulin, a general marker of liver and immune health.

Lactate Dehydrogenase

An enzyme that reflects general tissue turnover and cellular stress.

Hepatitis B antigen

Checks for an active hepatitis B infection.

Hepatitis B antibody

Shows whether you're immune to hepatitis B, from past infection or vaccination.

Hepatitis A antibody (Anti-HAV)

Shows whether you're immune to hepatitis A.

Bicarbonate

Urine Panel (Microalbumin, Creatinine, Alb/Cre ratio, pH, Protein, Glucose, Cells)

A urine analysis that screens for early kidney damage, infection and metabolic clues.

Cancer Testing

What it means

Blood markers that can rise with certain cancers. They support recommended, age-appropriate screening.

Why it matters

Awareness is part of staying ahead of your health. These markers add one more signal alongside your recommended screening, though on their own they cannot confirm or rule out cancer.

CEA

AFP

CA 125 (women)

A tumour marker used mainly in relation to ovarian cancer.

PSA (men)

Prostate-specific antigen, used to screen for prostate conditions including cancer.

EBV IgA

An antibody marker used in screening for nasopharyngeal cancer.

Functional Capacity Measures (Grip Strength, 5X sit-to-stand, Single Leg Stance)
